Enriching Learning and Faith
St. Machar Cathedral has a small but friendly and enthusiastic Sunday School. The children are given the chance to take part in rich learning experiences based on themes and lessons from the Bible, which very often tie in with a reading in church. The children get to experience a range of activities including art, crafts, discussion, music and play. We have also recently started a Good News box where the children are able to share snippets of how their faith has boosted them during the week. Sunday School meets in a room behind the chancel. The children are guided there by Sunday School staff during the second hymn in the Sunday Service. Children of all ages are welcome at Sunday School but we ask that any under 2s be accompanied by a parent or carer. Sunday School is led by a team of volunteers with two adults being in attendance each week. There are plenty of toys to play with for younger children if they are finding accessing the lesson difficult. However, lessons are planned with a full age range in mind. New members are always welcome.
